Liya Petrides was born in St. Petersburg, Russia where she received her early musical training in piano, chorus, composition and organ at Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory College.  After immigrating to the USA in1993, she earned her Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music and a doctorate from Juilliard in organ performance on a full scholarship.  She was fortunate to study with two legendary organists of the twentieth century McNeil Robinson and Gerre Hancock.  Prior to The Parish of St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes, Dr. Petrides served as the music director of St. Theresa’s Church in the Bronx and the Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY.  In addition to her duties as a liturgical musician, Liya has appeared at many prestigious concert venues such as the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Thomas Fifth Avenue Church, Carnegie, Alice Tully and Avery Fisher Halls, and many others.  She lives in Pelham Bay, Bronx with her husband, guitarist and composer, Mercy College professor Dr. Ron Petrides, and their two young children, Teddy and Sophia.

Kim joined our parish in 2017 after leading the Communications efforts at Saint Luke's Parish in Darien, CT for five years.  She brings a wealth of experience in marketing, communications, sales and operations, having worked for nearly 40 years in both the corporate and non-profit sectors on a professional and volunteer basis.  In her early career, she spent many years in product promotion, retail management and entertainment marketing services.  Most recently, she has concentrated her efforts on non-profit and foundation development, marketing and fundraising for organizations including World Vision, The LIVESTRONG Foundation, MAC Angels, The Connecticut Challenge and SoundWaters, where she has served in a variety of roles, including Marketing Consultant, Advisory Board Member, Fundraising Team Leader and Event Founder and Volunteer.

Kim is a native of Southern California, moved to Greenwich, CT in 1976, is a Greenwich High School graduate, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Middlebury College and a Sports Marketing Degree from New York University.  She has lived with her husband, their two daughters and their beloved golden retriever in Darien, CT since 1994.  Kim is an avid athlete and enjoys travel, photography and everything about her family and spiritual life.

Erika Gonzales Randolph grew up in Cuenca, Ecuador at her parents' home.  She spent her time playing and enjoying life with her two siblings.  In 2001, Erika embarked on an adventure and moved to the United States as an exchange student.  Erika has devoted the past 15 years to Early Childhood Education.  She enjoys helping shape young minds and hearts.  She enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with loved ones and helping people.  Erika is excited to start her new position at our parish and get to know everyone.

Merci was born in Manhattan and grew up in the Bronx.  A true city girl, she has an entrepreneurial spirit!  While her children were younger, she started a jewelry business with a friend in 2013 called Broken Gypsy, and it took on a life of its own!  Mercy enjoys spending time with her two sons and her daughter.  She loves to practice yoga and relax with her French bulldog, Boujie.  If Merci could visit one place on the planet, it would be Australia.  She'd like to see koalas and kangaroos living in the wild.
 
Merci comes to the parish excited to get to know everyone.  She loves people and loves to serve.

Claire began working at St. Catherine's in November of 1991 as a Receptionist and soon afterwards took on the task of Wedding Coordinator for the church.  Prior to working at St. Catherine's, Claire worked at hospitals in the Greenwich and Stamford area, for a law firm in Stamford and for the Stamford YMCA.

Claire is an active member of her parish, St. John's in Darien.  She has been a shopper for the Jewish Shopping Service in Greenwich since 1990.  Claire enjoys skiing, hiking, golf and theatre.   She is involved with the Senior Women's Ballet and takes creative writing classes in Darien. At home she enjoys working on her outdoor garden.

Having begun his tenure in July 1986, Steve has been an integral part of our Parish throughout all our growth and change.  He has been working in step with his brother, Jim, to keep the property running efficiently, with particular attention to the Church at St. Catherine of Siena.  Throughout the years the comradery he has found has developed into more than just friendships; this community is like family to him.  In Steve’s downtime, he can be found golfing at a local course or jamming out to a Bruce Springsteen album

 

 

MarcoMarco Castano

Marco Castano was born in Colombia, South America and has lived in the United States since 1987. Marco received his American citizenship in August 1996. Marco has more than 25 years of experience as a cook. He has worked for Centro Restaurant in Darien and C'est Si Bon Restaurant in Greenwich. Before joining St. Catherine's in 1999, Marco was the rectory cook at St. John's in Darien.  By day, Marco is the sole proprietor of a house cleaning business.

Having achieved the American dream of owning his own home, Marco now worries about paying his mortgage. In his "spare" time, he enjoys working outside in his yard or puttering on the inside with some home improvement project
